L. Roehrborn Obituary

L. Jean Roehrborn (Kueng), age 90 of Marshfield, WI, passed away early Sunday morning, April 14, 2024 at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI. A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Zion Community Church, 2106 N Peach Ave in Marshfield. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Burial will take place at a later date at Brooklawn Cemetery due to the ground being extremely wet from all of the recent rain. The funeral service will be live streamed on the church’s Facebook page.

Jeam was born December 15, 1933, the daughter of Arnold W. Kueng and Evenlyn M. (Oakberg) Keung in Owen, WI. She graduated from Marshfield Sr. High School on June 4th, 1951. On September 8th, 1956 Jean was united in marriage to the love of her life, Charles G. Roehrborn, at Zion Evangelical United Brethren Church in Marshfield, WI.

In addition to being a dedicated wife and mother, Jean was employed by Peoples Gas Co., Marshfield Clinic and The Marshfield News Herald in the Circulation Department.

She was an active member of Zion Community Church (Formerly Zion United Methodist Church). Jean was the organist/pianist at church for 73 years. She also played for the Choir the vast majority of the years, for special music events at the church and in the community, for hundreds of weddings, funerals, and other occasions. She played at nursing homes, the hospital, the adult day centers and the senior center.  Most of all she was the center of the music when the families would get together.

So in celebration of the most important parts of her life, her love of music, family and friends, I invite anyone attending to feel free to bring along any instrument you may have at home to join in and play along after the luncheon.

In her spare time she worked at the Roehrborn Strawberry Farm every Summer until 2023. She enjoyed her time at the Community Center and going to the YMCA, and volunteering at the Marshfield Clinic and Soup & Socks.

Jean is lovingly survived by her daughter, Bonnie Roehrborn, whose heart is bronken, and her two granddogs, Buggie and BeBop, who will really miss pestering their Grammie who never liked dogs, but four service dogs later, learned to cope with them like a trooper and even bring them treats and presents. She is also survived by her sister-in law, Shirley (Browe) Roehrborn as well as many nieces and nephews. She will truly be missed.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents: Arnold and Evelyn (Oakberg) Kueng, her husband: Charles G. Roehrborn; as well as her brother: Donald W. Kueng and his wife Therese (Cicero) Kueng, and In-laws: Ervin & Raeburn Roehrborn, James & Jean Roehrborn, Daniel Roehrborn, Elias & Wilma Roehrborn, and Norma & Edith Carpenter-Neu (Clarence).

Those wishing to express their sympathies can make a donation to the family for a project planned in memory of Jean’s love of music.

Please note** During the visitation, service & luncheon, Jean’s daughter, Bonnie, has requested that anyone approaching to come to speak with her please wear a mask. This is due to the multiple serious medical conditions she has that have left her immune system compromised & unable to protect her from contracting any type of virus, etc., and do her serious harm. You are welcome to remove your mask when not near her. Your understanding and compliance are appreciated.
