"Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion." - Robert Harling
Cherished wife, mom, sister, aunt, and friend, LaVerne G. Ule, quietly
passed away on September 19th, 2024, at the age of 83.
She left us with her humor intact.
LaVerne was born in her grandparent's home in Granton, Wisconsin
on October 6, 1940, to Gordon and Emmoline (Sternitzky) Revling,
and lived the majority of her life on and next door to her parents
farm in Auburndale.
On September 6, 1957, she married her only love, Norman Ule in
Dubuque, Iowa, as they were too young to receive a license in
Wisconsin. They returned for an official ceremony the next day at
St. John's Lutheran Church in Auburndale. LaVerne then followed
Norman to Biloxi, Mississippi where he was stationed in the
Air Force. They started their family in Florida before returning to
Wisconsin.
LaVerne was a young mother and homemaker who enjoyed fishing,
gardening and always sewing new outfits for her girls. As the kids
grew, she and Norman explored much of the state on snowmobiles.
She worked alongside her husband on building sites, painting and
refinishing homes and apartments he worked on. In their later
years, they enjoyed their occasional trips to casinos. LaVerne loved
birdwatching and her backyard were a haven for Orioles, Cardinals,
Bluebirds, Mourning Doves, and Hummingbirds. And, regrettably,
because of the cedar siding, Woodpeckers.
LaVerne was known for her sharp wit and quick humor. Something
her children and grandchildren obviously inherited.
LaVerne leaves behind her beloved husband of 67 years, her three
children, Keith (Peggy) Ule, Kim (Joseph) VanDerLeest, Kandy (Glenn)
Watson, four grandchildren, Jamie (Ryan) Horswell, Luke Peters,
Jacob Peters, Amanda (Jordan) Hoffman, six great-grandchildren,
Collin, Aria, Justin, Karma, Brooklyn and Charlie and one brother
Ron, plus many brothers and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and
extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother
Don, her daughter-in-law, Peggy, and son-in-law Joseph.
Those wishing to express their joyful memories and laughter are
encouraged to join all those who loved LaVerne at her Celebration
of Life on Friday, October 11th at St. John's Lutheran Church
Auburndale. Visitation will be held 9:00 am until the time of the Service
11:00 am to noon. A luncheon will follow.
The family wishes to express our gratitude to the kind caretakers
at Three Oaks Health Services along with our apologies regarding
how often they had to hear about her beloved "babies," Gracie and Ruby.
