Larry Raymond Post

Larry Raymond Post, age 78, of Marshfield, passed away early Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at the Tomah VA Medical Center in Tomah, WI. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 Veterans Parkway) in Marshfield. Visitation will be held at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on March 19, 2026.

Larry was born January 31, 1948, the son of Walter and Louise (Stahnke) in Marshfield. He graduated from Marshfield High School in 1966.

In 1967, Larry enlisted in the United States Army and served two tours in Vietnam with the 124th Transportation Company stationed at Cat Lai.  He was honorably discharged in 1973.

On May 26, 1973, Larry was united in marriage to the love of his life Vicky Bliven in Marshfield, WI.

After his service in the Army, he was employed as a maintenance technician at Foremost Farms for 30 years, retiring from there in 2002.  Never one to sit still, Larry continued working in maintenance at Woodland Village Apartments; he also worked summers at Rib Mountain State Park.  He then finished his working career as a custodian for Auburndale Schools finally retiring in 2018.

In Larry’s spare time he enjoyed working on cars, cutting wood, camping with his family, and watching the Packers and Brewers. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  Those that knew Larry best will miss his smile, laugh, and his love of popcorn.

Larry is lovingly survived by his Wife: Vicky; two children: Amanda Post of Marshfield, Jason (Holly) Post of Auburndale; 5 grandchildren; Tyler, Autumn, Alexis, Abigail, and Lilly; and one great-granddaughter: Kairi; six siblings: Ronald (Sandy) Post of Marshfield, Robert (Gloria) Post of Marshfield, Richard (Sheila) Post of Marshfield, Bonnie (Gerald) Howard of Marshfield, James (Rita) Post of Auburndale, and Dennis (Linda) Post of Marshfield; and many nieces and nephews. Larry will truly be missed.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Louise Post; parents-in-law: Floyd and Leone Bliven; as well as three siblings: Emilie Chesmore, Kenneth Post, and Beverly Post; sisters-in-law Evonda Post, Joyce Charney, Betty Bliven, Jean Eckes, June Overby and Patti Goralski; brothers-in-law Harley (Bud) Martin and Robert Martin.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Tomah VA Medical Center for the exceptional care they provided Larry.
