Laurie A. Britten

The world lost a beloved mother & wife, Laurie Britten, on October 12, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was 59.

At Laurie's request, her burial services will be private for immediate family members only.  The family will hold a celebration of life on Saturday December 7, 2024, at 501 Sports Bar in Marshfield from 2-6pm.

Laurie was born January 29, 1965, the daughter of Robert and Ruth Hertel.

Laurie attended high school at SPASH.  She was then employed at Weinbrenner Shoe Company for 36 years, until her early retirement in 2023.

On April 8, 2006, she was united in marriage to the love of her life Fred Britten in Marshfield, WI.

In her spare time Laurie enjoyed spending time with her family, & planting flowers.  She always had the most beautiful flowers all summer long!

Laurie is lovingly survived by her husband Fred, best friend & daughter Kamie (Don) Sobolewski of Eau Claire, WI & grandsons Tim and Zach.

She is further survived by a brother-in-law Jr. (Sandy), sisters-in-law Sis (Darrell), Mary (Rod), and Renee (Tom), numerous aunts, uncles, cousins & special friends.

Laurie is preceded in death by her parents Bob & Ruth, aunts, uncles, & her 2 special cats Kitty Baby and Princess.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Compassus home hospice for taking such great care of her for the short time they did.

Friends wishing to honor Laurie are invited to make a donation in her name to their local pet shelter.
