Lee (Buck) Parbel, age 80, of Marshfield passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Marshfield Medical Center, with Kathy and Shelby holding his hands. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Zion United Methodist Church, 2106 North Peach Avenue, in Marshfield with Pastor Hyeok Won Kwon officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Hillside Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church from 10:00 to time of service. The honor of pallbearer belongs to Russell Burr, Paul Jakopin, Tom Seyfert, David Swenson, Daniel Ziaya, and Michael Ziaya.
Lee was born on October 18, 1940 in Akron, OH to Kenneth and Wilma (Boles) Parbel and attended school there.
In 1957 he came to Wisconsin with his grandpa for a fishing trip. He loved the area so much he decided not to return to city life. Living in a rural community, he developed life-long interests in fishing, hunting and the outdoors. As he came from the Buckeye State, his friends began calling him “Buck”, a nickname that stuck with him the rest of his life.
On November 24,1962 he married Kathleen Budahn in Marshfield. A daughter, Shelby, was born to them in November of 1966.
Lee was employed in construction until 1963 when he joined the Marshfield Clinic. He retired from there in 1995 to pursue his hobbies and hang out with his buddies. Throughout the years he enjoyed fishing, hunting, dogs, shooting, maple syruping, deer farming, driving, the great outdoors with his friends, being at the hunting shack, and collecting...everything!
Buck enjoyed a good argument and wasn’t known for keeping his opinions to himself. But he was generous to a fault and so enjoyed his family and friends!
Lee is survived by his wife Kathy, daughter Shelby Parbel Burr, son-in-law Russell Burr, his little dog “Bear”, sisters Rebecca Boggs, Charlotte (Nevin) Good, brother David, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Dale, Kenneth, and Raymond.
Kathy, Shelby and Russ offer thanks and appreciation to family, friends, church family, and healthcare staff for being a part of Buck’s life. He will truly be missed.
