Linda Rasmussen

December 15, 1950 ~ November 14, 2021 (age 70)

Linda Lee Rasmussen, 70, of Hewitt, departed her loving family on Sunday, November 14, 2021.  She was born in Tigerton, WI on December 15, 1950, to Leonard and Dorothy (Kersten) Linke.  Linda graduated from Wittenberg High School in 1969 and received her degree from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in 1972.

She married the love of her life, Kenneth Rasmussen, on August 26, 1972.  Linda is survived by her husband; three daughters, Kim Rasmussen (Jesse Spanaus) of Northglenn, CO, Jill Rasmussen (Nick Weis) of Marshfield, WI; and Kelly Rasmussen (James Carwin) of Fort Morgan, CO; and four grandchildren, Kayla and Haylee Hopperdietzel and Kristopher and Lemmy Carwin.  She is also survived by three brothers, Donald (Sandy) Linke, Robert (Debbie) Linke, and Thomas (Betty) Linke; three brothers in-law, Terry (Doreen) Rasmussen, Verlyn (Debbie) Rasmussen, and Garry (Carol) Rasmussen.  Linda also had many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents; in-laws, James and Eva Rasmussen; and her brother, John.

Linda was an RN for forty-two years, first at St. Joseph’s Hospital and then at the Marshfield Clinic. Even after retirement, she was willing to help with medical care, especially her own.  She loved spending time with her family, going to the cabin, watching WI sports teams, traveling, sewing, crafting, reading, bringing the fun, and making sure everyone followed speed limits and traffic rules.  Linda was an amazing mother and wonderful grandmother.  She was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind beautiful memories.  As her health declined, she often provided her family with zingers to keep them laughing and knowing she was listening.

Our family would like to thank the staff and care providers at River City Estates (Hewitt) for their compassion and care for Linda.

Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the American Legion Post 54 in Marshfield.  Please join us for snacks and share cherished memories.  Tribute by the Wisconsin Nurses Honor Guard at 4:30 pm.
