Marcella L. Schwantes

Marcella L. “Sis” Schwantes, age 85, of Marshfield, formerly of Stratford, passed away on Monday, Dec. 4, 2023, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, 2023, at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E. Veterans Pkwy. in Marshfield). Rev. Mark Krueger will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Marcella was born on Dec. 18, 1937, the daughter of the late Otto and Bertha (Hoernke) Leffel, in the Marathon County town of Frankfort. She graduated from Colby High School in 1956. She was married to Earl Eiberg and later divorced. On Aug. 5, 1974, Marcella was then married to Roger Schwantes.

In her spare time, she enjoyed cross-stitching, Bingo, trips to the casino, and crafting.

Marcella is lovingly survived her children: Mark (Denise) Eiberg, Randy Eiberg, Tracy (Paul) Severt, and Rochelle (Johnny) Weeks; as well as eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She is further survived by two brothers, and two sisters.

In addition to her parents, Otto and Bertha Leffel, and husband, Roger Schwantes, Marcella was preceded in death by three brothers.
