Margaret Lorraine (Alyea) Fornefelt

Margaret Fornefelt, affectionately known as "Margie"-- a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2020 at the age 101.  She was born on January 6, 1919 to Frederick and Sadie Alyea. She was happily married for 60 years to the love of her life, Dr. Frederick (Fritz) Fornefelt who preceded her in death in 2005. 

Margie was deeply loved and is survived by Dorothy Nelson (Donald), Barbara Munoz (Timothy Cullen), and Peg Fornefelt, granddaughters Jenniifer Vieweg (Michael) and Sarah Hallmark (Will), and great grandchildren Kaitlin Vieweg and Madyson, Hailey, Thomas, and Timothy Hallmark. All of whom she loved and touched deeply.  And of course, her not so yappy little pet Yorkie, Lucky, who was her faithful companion for many years.

Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Margie grew up on the family farm near Granton, Wisconsin before she moved to Marshfield to continue her education.  As a young woman, Margie worked as a beautician finding and fostering beauty in everyone she met. She later met Fritz, her future husband, with whom she profoundly impacted the world. As a married couple, they filled their home in Marshfield with friends, family, and students from various nationalities and cultures, hosting multiple foreign exchange students and two AFS students.  Full of life and adventure they traveled the world together visiting many of the foreign students and both AFS students in their respective countries.  Always full of grace, Margie left her mark on a myriad of individuals, institutions, and clubs she was actively involved in; most notably, the First Presbyterian Church, Daughters of American Revolution, and Shriners Auxiliary. 

Margie's home was full of love and laughter where all were accepted. Her legacy will live on forever through the abundance of lives she profoundly uplifted. To know her was to be touched by her. She will be deeply missed. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Marshfield, Wisconsin or the Shriners Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
