Marie I. Hughes

Marie I. Hughes, 81, of Marshfield, WI, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025. Born on September 27, 1943, in Spooner, WI, Marie lived a life filled with love, hard work, and dedication to her family.

Marie was a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughters Cathy, Dawn, Nicki, and Sheila, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy. She was preceded in death by her daughters Cheryl and Tracy, her parents, and her siblings.

A woman of strong will and determination, Marie had a generous heart and an unmistakable sense of humor. Though she was known for being a bit ornery and stubborn at times, she was always there for her family, offering her help whenever they needed it. Marie spent her career as a truck driver and later worked in home health, where she touched the lives of many. She had a deep love for country music, and nothing made her smile more than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her earlier years, she loved gardening and cherished the time she spent tending to plants when she lived in the country.
