Marie Frances (Schilling) Rosenau

           Marie Frances Rosenau, 71, of Mosinee, Wisconsin departed her loving family on December 5, 2021.  

Marie was born February 11, 1950, the daughter of Walter and Frances (Schmidt) Schilling in Wausau, WI. On January 18, 1969 Marie was united in marriage to the love of her life Dennis Rosenau Sr. at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Mosinee. 

         Marie lovingly volunteered at numerous Catholic organizations,  holding a big place in her heart for Special Religious Education. She enjoyed dancing, sewing and crafting. Her love of baking has been passed down to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her special zucchini bars and cookies (with extra sprinkles for the kids to eat) were always a special treat. Her smile and laughter always lit up the room!

         Her greatest love was family, the pivotal essence of her life. She was proud and honored to be the matriarch, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her large family. She has been a major presence in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

         Marie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 25 years Dennis Rosenau Sr., and brother Michael Schilling.

Marie is survived by her 5 children: Dennis Jr. (Jane) Rosenau, Michael Rosenau, Douglas Rosenau, Maria (Jeremy) Gibbs, Danielle Gilbertson-Rosenau. Grandchildren: Ryan, Amanda, Jesika, Jonathan, Marah, Marcus, Jennah, Makennah, Betty and Vinny. Great-grandchildren: Skylar, Shayna and Devlin.  Siblings: Harold (Nancy) Schilling, Ed (Deb) Schilling, Lorraine (Ron) Wilke, Wally Schilling, Carl (Pat) Schilling, Mark Schilling, Fran (Terry) Schilling, Linda (Randy) Quist. 

Visitation will be held at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 East Veterans Parkway, Marshfield, Wisconsin 54449) on December 16, 2021 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. A brief visitation will also be held at Saint Paul Catholic Church (603 4th Street, Mosinee, Wisconsin 54455) on December 17, 2021 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. before the funeral mass. The burial and graveside service will follow mass. A meal will immediately follow.

Her spirit and unwavering faith will always be a beacon of light for those that cherished her deeply, and her legacy will live on forever.
