Marvin Schlinsog Obituary

Marvin Emil Schlinsog, age 82, of Marshfield, passed away peacefully on February 18th, 2025, with family by his side. A visitation will be held Monday, February 24th, from 10-11am at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Marshfield, followed by a funeral service at 11:00am.

Marvin was born on June 9th, 1942, in Granton, Wisconsin, to Loraine and Emil Schlinsog. He graduated from Granton High School in 1960 and soon after moved to Marshfield with his former wife, Ann Marie Sternitzky Schlinsog. Marvin started his electrical career at Rollohome Corporation in Marshfield. He then worked at K&M Electric and later became owner of his own business, Town & Country Electric and Marshfield Motor Shop, for which he worked at the rest of his career. During that time, he also taught several electrical courses at Mid-State Technical College. In his spare time, he was committed to the Eagles Club and became president of the local and state Fraternal Order of Eagles. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time outside and often took trips to Arizona, collecting various cacti which he shared with his grandchildren.

Marvin is survived by his former wife, Ann Marie; along with his children, Jeffrey Schlinsog and Sandra Schlinsog, Jay (Annie) Schlinsog, Jim (Michele) Schlinsog, and Janelle (Don) Diener.

He was blessed with 10 grandchildren, Heidi (Connor) Schlinsog, Wendy Schlinsog, Hayley (Tommy) Magnant, Jacob (Anthony) Schlinsog, Jordan Schlinsog, Evan Schlinsog, Matthew Schlinsog, Courtney (Kadin) Diener, Drew Diener, and Brynn (Tate) Diener; as well as two great-grandchildren, Theo Magnant, and Baby Magnant.

He is further survived by brother-in-law, Gary Dahl; brother-in-law, Gary Sternitzky; sister-in-law, Judy Sternitzky; and many nieces and nephews.

Marvin was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Emil and Loraine Schlinsog; his sister, Peggy (Fred) Blaskowski; and his sister, Margie (Gary) Dahl. He is also preceded in death by brother-in-law, Allen (Judy) Sternitzky. Additionally, he is preceded in death by his niece, Maria, with whom he had a very special bond.

The family would like to thank Judy Sternitzky for caring and providing a comfortable home for Marvin for several years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Marvin’s name to Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Alzheimer’s Association.
