Mary Skrzeczkoski, 100, of  Marshfield WI, passed away peacefully early Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Safe Haven Senior Care in Marshfield. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 16th at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 East Veterans Parkway in Marshfield, with Pastor Dan Kolins officiating. Mary was born May 5, 1923, the daughter of Leo Ostricki and Louise Ostricki (Moses) in Knowlton WI. She graduated from 8th grade in Knowlton. As was common for young girls of her generation, she then worked on the family farm. With a strong love of school, reading and learning she continued to educate herself. Later in adult life she was proud to earn her GED diploma. In 1945 she married Harold Skrzeczkoski. They owned and operated dairy farms in Milladore and Unity. They later divorced. She worked at Land of Lakes in Spencer until her “retirement” and then enjoyed working part time greeting and assisting at Arbys until she was 80.

She was a member of East Gate Alliance Church and loved her church community, participating in many groups and activities. Throughout her life she volunteered at St Joesphs hospital, numerous service organizations and supported many charities.

In her spare time she enjoyed visiting with friends, walking, nature, reading and playing games. Even in her last years it was almost impossible to beat her at Scrabble. She loved to crochet and made many afghans for family and friends, as well as for donations to special causes. Those that knew Mary best will miss her smile, her cabbage rolls and her apple pie.

Mary is lovingly survived by sons David (Susan) Skrzeczkoski of Plover WI and Daniel Skrzeczkoski of Charlevoix MI; grandchildren: Barb Wierzba,, Michael Skrzeczkoski , Lisa Skrzeczkoski Bzdusek, Laura McCauley, Jerri Ann Ovaska and Jason Skrzeczkoski She was loved by 13 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; her son Thomas, two infant children: Joseph and Rita; as well as siblings: John Ostricki, Tony Ostricki, Stanley Ostricki, Stefannie Burreta, Theresa Zblicki, Sophie Anas and Helen Kopecko.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Safe Haven Senior Care of Marshfield for the support and tender loving care she received while residing there.
