Mary Willman Obituary

Mary E. Willman, age 91, of Marshfield, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Thursday, October 9, 2025, with family by her side.

A Memorial Service will be held at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E. Veterans Pkwy. in Marshfield) on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Visitation will be held at 10AM with a service to begin at 11AM. Deacon Ray Draeger will officiate. Burial will take place at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield.

Mary was born on June 1, 1934, to Joseph and Ida (Carl) Gerl in the town of Eau Pleine in Stratford, WI. She graduated from Stratford High School in 1952. On June 3, 1953, she was united in marriage to Albert Willman at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Stratford, and later divorced.

Mary worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory (5 years), Casa Loma (12 years) and Clover Cream/Beatrice Cheese as a lab technician for 26 years. She retired from Beatrice Cheese in June of 1996.

Mary is a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society.

She enjoyed flowers, fishing, sewing, music, and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She is well known for her baking goodies and most of all her monster cookies. She even used them as an incentive to give to hunters to get venison. Two of her sons (Dave and Donny) started the Lonely Few Motorcycle Club. During her younger years, she attended gatherings at the club, being given rides on Harleys by the members. Mom had MANY good friends that she thought about and gave her all to. Mary adopted neighbor Randy and Heidi and their 2 girls as extended family.

Mary is lovingly survived by 3 sons: Dave (Cheri), Dennis, and Duane (Amy Schmitt); 6 grandchildren: Travis (Deanna), Troy (Elizabeth), Robert, Stefanie (Brandon) Carlson, Dave (Cherise) Weiss, and Shawn; 9 great-grandchildren: Sydney, Zachary, Theodore, Aiden, Jackson, Elizabeth, Kage, Dalton, Chloe; and 4 special young adults: Nick, Abby, Vincent, and Audrie.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Ida; two sons: Dale and Donny; one sister: Rita (Charlie) Reise; and a long-time companion of 24 plus years: Richard Podsiadlik.

The family wishes to thank Charlie W. (Mom's very good friend and Bible Companion), the many wonderful staff at the Waterford of Colby during her stay there since June of 2022, Compassus Home Health Tracy P.
