March 21, 1953 – July 14, 2025
Merlin Walter Matti, 72, of Rangeline, Wisconsin, passed away on July 14, 2025. Born on March 21, 1953, Merlin was the son of Walter Edward and Evelyn Matilda Ann (Kelnhofer) Matti.
Merlin carried on his family legacy of dairy farming. Later in life, he had a second career working for H&S as a welder. Always the hard worker, Merlin found peace and fulfillment in the outdoors and he was an avid hunter and trapper. He also greatly enjoyed camping with his wife and found great solace in nature. He found a creative outlet in fabricating art from iron. Many of his pieces can be found across the country.
Merlin was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah; children, Andrew (Jessica), Ashley (Jeff), Brittany (Dain), and Derrick; and grandchildren, George, Nina, Mary, Ryah, Norah, Payton, Dylan, and Lennon.
He is further survived by his brother, Melvin (Charmaine); and sister, Delores (Klem) Gebelein; and many nieces; nephews; and good friends. Merlin is predeceased by his father and mother; his son, Michael; his in-laws, Albert and Audrey Vivian; and brother-in-law, John Weis.
A funeral service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 132300 County Road C, Mosinee, on July 24th at 11:00 AM. A visitation will take place at the church starting at 10:00 AM.
Merlin will be dearly missed by his family and friends, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
