Michael Steltenpohl

Michael E. Steltenpohl, age 60, of Marshfield, passed away August 27th, 2022, at the Marshfield Medical Center.

Mike was born January 21st, 1962, to Eugene and Virginia (Mews) Steltenpohl at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids. He attended Pittsville schools for most of his education but then moved to Marshfield and completed high school. He graduated from Marshfield Senior High in 1980 and from the University of Eau Claire in 1984. On May 1st, 1999, Mike was united in marriage to Debra K. Caldwell. They divorced earlier this year but remained close. Previously he worked at Marshfield Homes, St. Joseph’s Hospital, and the Marshfield Clinic. At the time of his passing, he was employed at Central State Supply.

Mike was a quiet man but when he started discussing something he was passionate about the conversation could go on for hours. One thing he was passionate about was the life of Abraham Lincoln. He enjoyed giving educational talks to school children and adults.

Mike is lovingly survived by his ex-wife: Deb; his child: Mick of Madison; siblings: Judy Steltenpohl of Wisconsin Rapids, Bob (Rita) Steltenpohl of Indianapolis, Ken (Pam) Steltenpohl of Howards Grove, Cheryl (Jack) Vanderwyst of Hewitt, and Scott Steltenpohl of Marshfield. He is further survived by nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Eugene and Virginia; as well as two of his brothers: Allen and Russy.

Per Mike’s request, there will be no public service or visitation.
