Opal Marie Krueger, age 99, of Marshfield, passed away early Tuesday, March 4th, 2025, at Safe Haven Senior Care in Marshfield. Visitation will be held from 9 AM - 11 AM with a Memorial Service at 11 Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation Center (1010 East Veterans Parkway) in Marshfield. Lunch will be provided at the funeral home after the service.
Opal was born October 28, 1925, the daughter of Rueben and Marie Babcock (Gabelein) in the town of Green Valley. In 1941 Opal was united in marriage to the love of her life Arnold Krueger. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Opal farmed with her husband Arnold in Milladore until 1957. Then resided in Marshfield until her time of death.
Opal enjoyed traveling, ballroom dancing, gardening, knitting, word search, reading her bible and going to church. Opal enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. She also liked to have family gatherings where no one ever went home hungry. She sent Chili, cookies and banana bread home with family each visit.
Opal is lovingly survived by her daughter-in-law Virgene Krueger, granddaughter Cheryl Krueger Schulte, (Paul Steines), great granddaughters Heather Kops (Jeremy), Rachel Schulte (Chris) Step great granddaughter Emily Serwe (Jake) Step great grandson Alex Steines (Megan) great great-granddaughters Savana, Sydney, Sorrel, step great great-grandson Sawyer, Siblings Yvonne Veseley, Evelyn Doering, Ellen Martin, and Gerald Babcock., Sister-in -law Patty Babcock. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. She will truly be missed.
Opal is preceded in death by her husband Arnold Krueger, son Alfred Krueger, grandson in law Eric Schulte, her parents: Rueben and Marie Babcock, in-laws Fred and Tina Krueger, siblings Howard Babcock, Norman Babcock, Lorraine Morrel, Delphine Werther, and Ethel Hirsch.
