Paul F. Wolf, age 87, passed away at Wells Nature View, Marshfield, WI. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 1:00 a.m.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E. Veterans Pkwy, Marshfield, WI 54449). Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
Paul was born in Marshfield on July 19, 1937, to Michael Wolf and Mae Wolf (Geiger). He lost his dad when he was an infant and grew up on the family farm with his sister, Emelda and brothers, Jim & Martin. He learned his good work ethic, helping his mom and siblings from an early age that continued throughout his life.
If there was one thing Paul was, that was determined. No matter what the challenge or request, he gave his all to ensure he exceeded all expectations, whether to himself or others. What others saw as a problem, Paul saw as a challenge.
He was a standout football & baseball player during his school years & enjoyed hunting, fishing & teaching tennis & skiing to his children & grandchildren. Much to the delight & sometimes chagrin of his wife, Nelda, Paul always tried to fix anything that was broken. The family called him Mr. Fixit.
Paul met the love of his life at Columbus High School & they began a lifetime of dancing and enjoying country western music together. Always anxious to get on with life, Paul & Nelda married September 17, 1955, after graduation.
After interning with Nelda's Dad, Harold Gust Sr. Construction & then apprenticing with Thomas Electric, he received his electrical journeyman’s license. During those years of trade school & apprenticing, Paul and Nelda raised four children, Guy Paul, Michelle, Jacquelyn and Charla. During this time he also served in the Marshfield National Guard. He proudly displayed our American flag every Memorial Day and Fourth of July.
Soon after he earned his Master Electrical License & Lighting Designer Engineering License. He planned to own his own business, combining his talents for construction and electricity. He & Nelda established Wolf Electric & Construction, Inc. and later after earning his Wisconsin Real Estate Broker License he established Panel Enterprises, Commercial Rentals. Paul was very protective of his crew & worked alongside them whenever possible. He also served at MSTC as an Electrical Instructor.
While raising a family & running the businesses, Paul also took time to play & travel. He bowled with the KC bowling league, taught little league baseball, cheered the Packers and Brewers and the local high school football teams. He loved boating and fishing with the family, looked forward each year to the June Canadian fishing trip with his fishing buddies and Winter ski trip with his ski gang.
An RV driven by Paul took the family on many trips visiting almost every state in the U.S. Later, Hawaii and European countries were enjoyed.
Paul leaves behind his wife, Nelda (Gust) and children Guy Paul Wolf (Bonnie), Michelle Johnston (James), Jacquelyn Guldan (Dan), Charla Cook (John). His grandchildren, Jason Guldan (Kelly), Nicholas Guldan (Amy), Adam Guldan (Sydney), Rachel Wolf (AJ), Roger Paul Huth (Monica), Brandon Wolf (Morgan), Lauren Moore (Caleb) and Christopher Iverson (Lindsay); Great grandchildren: Mark James Huth, Emmeline Guldan, Corabelle Guldan, Arianna Guldan, Rory Guldan, Theo Moore and Sadie Moore; Step-grandchildren: Dylan, Audrey, Hannah, Lilly and Jake; brothers-in-law: Harry Gust Jr. (Shirley), Wayne Gust and Daniel Gust (Maria); sisters-in-law: Mary Gust and Lyn Gust; godson, Dr. Pat Wolf (Cathy); Goddaughter: Lori Heeg; siblings: Martin Wolf, Emelda Heeg and James Wolf. Numerous nieces & nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his parents: Mae Patrie & Michael Wolf; stepfather: Henry Patrie; brother-in-law: Bill Heeg and sister-in-law Lucille Wolf.
