Raphael Albert Maciejewski

Raphael A. Maciejewski, age 85, of Vesper, WI, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at home surrounded by his family.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 6631 Church Street, in Vesper on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Dave Bruener officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation for family and friends will be at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Ray was born July 14, 1936 in Linwood, WI to Albert and Grace (Rychter) Maciejewski, on the hottest day on record. Ray graduated from Marshfield Senior High School. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy from 1956-1958. He married Jane T. Stueber on July 4, 1961 in Stratford, WI. The marriage was blessed with six children.
Ray worked at Consolidated Papers for 35 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, serving on the board for many years. Hobbies included hunting, fishing, farming, and spending time with family around the campfire. He was always able to find a connection with anyone he met.

Ray is survived by his six children, Daniel (Diane) Maciejewski, Diane (Richard) Dombrowski, Katharine (Robert) Altman, David (Victoria) Maciejewski, Tina Maciejewski, and Christine Churchill; 13 grandchildren, Jeremy (Kelly) Maciejewski, Jessica (Don) Minarcin,  Janel (Dave) Sabatke, Daniel, Mary, Robert and Brian (Jennifer) Dombrowski, Nicole (Taylor) Meyers and Sarah  (John Paul) Galep, Alison, Evan and Travis Maciejewski, Lily and Claire Churchill; and 10 great grandchildren.
Ray is survived by his brother Tom Maciejewski (Jose Nunez), brother and sister in laws Sandra Maciejewski, John (Mary) Stueber, Paul (Jean) Stueber, Barb (Steve) Kastner, Donna Rief, Alice Stueber, and Mary (Clarence) Oertel. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Jane, his parents, brother Paul Maciejewski, and brother in law Dennis Rief.
