Richard Ervin Haumschild

Richard Ervin Haumschild, age 78, of Milladore, passed away at his home on Sunday, February 2, 2025.

Richard (Dick) was born September 23, 1946, in Milladore, the son of Ervin and Ruth Haumschild. He attended Stepping Stone School in Milladore and then attended Auburndale High School. This is where he met his lifelong love, Ruth Ann Revling. They married on April 18th, 1965. Together they raised two sons, Greg and Jeff.

Dick was a faithful member of St John Lutheran Church in Auburndale and was an initial organizer of the Building for Life Everlasting Fund. He was an active member of the Auburndale Lions Club for many years. Many met Dick while on the hunt for a new car, and most came home with one after talking with him at Neuville Pontiac, where he was a car salesman for 30 years.

If you wanted to see Dick on a Tuesday, you could find him on a golf course somewhere throughout Central Wisconsin. Haumschild’s Hunting Camp was a special time of the year with a fully stocked bar and his UTV, which he insisted on hauling the deer with. Conversations were never-ending and no matter where he went, he could strike up a friendship with new and old friends. You never had to ask Dick for help - he jumped right in and knew what was needed. Above all, his love for his wife, sons, daughter-in-law, and especially his grandchildren, was like no other – they meant the world to him.

Survivors include his loving wife of almost 60 years, Ruth Ann Haumschild of Milladore, his children: Gregory Haumschild of Wisconsin Rapids, and Jeffrey (Laura) Haumschild of Milladore; his grandchildren: Jordan Haumschild, Bailey Haumschild (Scott),  Brennen Haumschild, Trevor Haumschild (Katelyn & Oakley), Morgyn Haumschild (Ellis), and Wyatt Haumschild (Mercedes); his sisters: Carol (Dennis) Mancl of Plover, Lynn (Jon) Kelnhofer of Marshfield, and Sharon (Dennis) Draxler of Auburndale, along with several nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Ruth Haumschild, and his great-granddaughter, Ensley Haumschild.

A funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, February 14, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church, 10571 George Ave, in Auburndale. Visitation will be held at St. John Lutheran Church from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday, February 14, 2025. Burial will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Richard’s name to the Building for Life Everlasting Fund, St. John Lutheran Church, Auburndale.
