Obituary

Richard Lee Kramer, died on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at the Tomah VA Center in Tomah Wisconsin. Private family graveside services will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield.

Richard was born April 7, 1948. He attended Far View Country School and Marshfield Senior High School and Graduated in 1966. He was confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church and had a strong place in his heart for his religion. He enlisted in the delayed entry program for the U.S. Airforce in September 1966. Richard worked for his father in an autobody shop until he left for service in 1970.  He proudly served from 1970 to 1990.

Dick served as an airplane mechanic and was voted Airmen of the Month while at school.  Richard was stationed in many places including: Texas, Washington, and Vietnam for a year. Richard was Honorably Discharged in 1990 due to illness resulting from his time in service. However; Dick always said, “ I was never sorry I went and served my country.”  Dick has a long line of family members who have served their country including his father that served in WWII with the 9th Army Unit and an uncle who was a 20 year military veteran who also served in WWII.

Dick never married. He was very kind and caring to whomever he met. He helped many people out. Often, he used his means to help somebody else instead of himself.

Survivors include his two sisters, Barbara (Harold "Coke") Kohlbeck of Marshfield, Nancy Mackie of Gallatin, TN, six nephews and one niece.

The family suggests that memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516, or online at  www.support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
