Richard "Rico" Smith

Richard “Rico” Smith, age 67, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024, at his residence. A celebration of life will be held April 13, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Hotel Marshfield.

Rick was born March 25, 1957, the son of Stewart and Beverly (Blodgett) Smith in Marshfield. He graduated from Marshfield High School in 1975. On July 28, 1979, Rick was united in marriage to the love of his life Joanne Aschebrook in his parent’s back yard in Marshfield.

In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting albums, listening to music, model trains, putzing around in the basement, taking care of the lawn (mowing the lawn relaxed him), fixing things, and especially enjoyed woodworking.

Rick is lovingly survived by his wife Joanne; daughter, Tabetha Allen; grandchildren, Shelby Allen, and Shyla Allen; daughter, Samantha Smith; son, Gregory Smith and grandchildren Dane Randall, Victor Smith, Alden Smith; brothers Timothy (Sandy) Smith and Thomas Smith.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents Stewart and Beverly Smith, sister, Sybil “Muff” Rierson and parents in law Roger and Arliss Aschebrook.
