Robert “Bob” J. Wurl

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear brother Robert “Bob” J. Wurl.  Bob age 76, of Stratford Wisconsin, passed away early on December 27, 2024 at Marshfield Medical Center.  A Christian Burial Mass will be held at 11: AM on Monday January 13, 2025 at Saint Andrew’s Church in Rozellville, Wisconsin.  Visitation will be held at Saint Andrew’s Church from 9:00 AM – 11:00AM on January 13, 2025.  Burial will take place at Saint Andrew’s Cemetery following the funeral mass. Stratford Memorial VFW Post 6352 will provide Military Honors.

Bob was born September 10, 1948, the son of Clarence Wurl and Marie (Kroening) Wurl in Marshfield Wisconsin. He graduated from Stratford High School in 1966. Bob served in the US Army 1968 – 1970.  He was stationed in South Korea in 1969-1970.

He was a member of the Stratford VFW and Saint Andrew’s Parish in Rozellville.  Bob spent most of his time farming on the Wurl family farm. In his spare time, he enjoyed machinery shopping, attending the Edgar Steam Show, having coffee with friends at Melody Gardens and the Wild Steer in Stratford plus years ago playing cards at Siemer’s Bar. Those that knew Bob best will miss his teasing and fun bachelor personality.

Bob is lovingly survived by his sister Mary (Wurl) Mannigel, brothers Bill Wurl, Jerry Wurl, Tom Wurl, brother in-law Jerry Mannigel and sister in-laws Judy (Sabin) Wurl and Linda (Rasmussen) Wurl and aunt Marcella Sitko. Bob also has many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was loved and will be missed by all.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Marie (Kroening) Wurl as well as sister    in-law Debbie Wurl, niece Christine Brickheimer and nephew Kyle Martin and many aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers will be Duane Shraeder, Paul Wurl, Doug Mannigel, Logan Griesbach, Dennis Kuehnhold and Ronald Fisher.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to all the nurses and staff at the Marshfield Medical Center critical care and palliative care units.
