Ronald Crute, age 81 of Plover, WI, passed away early Saturday day, March 14, 2026, at House of the Dove in Marshfield, WI. He has chosen to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held, June 14, 2026, at the Pine Lake Town Hall (4197 River Rd.) in Rhinelander, WI.
Ron was born on September 3, 1944, the son of Clarence and Anne (Satorius) Crute in Cleveland. He graduated from E.E. Root High School in North Royalton. On May 5, 1968. Ron was united in marriage to the love of his life Pauline Fava in Ohio.
Ron was a member of the United States Marine Corps and served a tour in Vietnam. He was also a founding member of the Pine Lake Fire Department in Rhinelander, and Director of Buildings and Grounds at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rhinelander.
Ron had a deep love for the outdoors and could often be found fishing or camping with family and friends. He enjoyed history and travel and was known for his handy construction skills.
Ron is lovingly survived by children: Allison Huebner of Stevens Point, WI and Angela Crute of Fond du Lac, WI. He is further survived by his granddaughter, Lauren Huebner; his grandson, Milan Cannamela; and many nieces and nephews.
He was a kind and generous person and will truly be missed.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Anne as well as siblings: Linda and Keith and his beloved wife, Polly.
