Ronald Albert Ohnesorge, 91, of Marshfield, WI, passed away peacefully at his home with his family on October 19, 2021.
He was born born on April 25, 1930, in Fish Creek, WI, to Herman and Magdalene Ohnesorge and graduated from Poynette High School. He attended UW-Stevens Point until enlisting in the Army and served in the Korean War. Ron married Joyce Marlene Schroeder, June 20, 1953.
He worked for Red Dot Potato Chips, Wisconsin Power & Light Co., Aid Association for Lutherans (Thrivent) for 24 years and after retirement, at the Marshfield Clinic in security. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and served as President of the congregation for 10 years. Ron was a member of the American Legion, VFW and the Eagles.
Ron loved woodworking, taking care of the yard, ensuring Joyce had every bird fed in the neighborhood, keeping up with worldly events on Fox News and watching Wisconsin Badgers or Packer games. Ron and Joyce enjoyed watching golf, bowling, going to their cabins in Phillips or Door County where you would find them playing a serious game of cribbage or rummy.
He is survived by four siblings: Emeline Thompson, Marian Tarrant, Merle Ohnesorge and Laurel Burkett; his children: Kathy (Bob) Grawien, Fish Creek, WI, Gary Ohnesorge, Marshfield, Karen (Randy) Hornick, Auburndale, WI, Rhonda Ohnesorge, Solana Beach, CA, Jon (Carrie Neumann) Ohnesorge, Hartford, WI; 7 grandchildren: Stacy Gray, Cassandra (Jake) Samuels, Carly (Aaron) Cook, Christopher Grawien, Jared (Samantha) Hornick, Eric Grawien and Kayla Ohnesorge; and 6 great-grandchildren: Evelyn, Luca, Isla, Eleanor, Vera, Everly; and daughter-in-law: Melody Ohnesorge, and her son, Nick Badtke.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Joyce: his parents; 3 siblings; eldest son, Larry Ohnesorge; and an infant grandson, Joshua Ohnesorge.
His funeral service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield, WI, on November 6th, 2021, with Pastor Andrew Belt officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral service at 11.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ Lutheran Church Building Fund or Youth Group. A private family committal will take place in Blossomberg Cemetery in Fish Creek, WI, at a later date.
