Ronald Raymond Parks, age 88, of Marshfield, passed away peacefully into eternal life on
Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024, at House of the Dove surrounded by loved ones. Funeral service will be
held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, Aug. 10th, 2024, at Hansen-Schilling funeral home 1010 East
Veterans Parkway in Marshfield. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 A.M.
until the time of service.
Ronald was born June 30th, 1936. The son of Leo and Evelyn (Gilberts) Parks in Marshfield,
WI. He graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1954. On September 14th, 1957,
Ronald was united in marriage to the love of his life, Shelby Jean (Smith) Parks in Humbird, WI.
Ronald began employment as an accountant with Greenwood Mueller Accounting. He quickly
advanced to becoming a partner at the business and became the owner of Parks Accounting
whose initial location was downtown Central Ave and later at South Central Ave. He was a
trusted partner with his many business contacts. Dedicated to integrity and meeting his clients
needs. He was in business locally for 54 years before he sold the business in 2008.
Ronald was one of the past presidents of the Wisconsin Association of Accountants. He was a
member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Marshfield. He was an avid Green Bay Packers Fan
and a long-term season ticket holder. He was extremely proud when after 30 years two
grandsons became ticket holders too. He enjoyed the Brewers, Badgers, and the Bucks. He
spent many deer seasons in the woods during the November gun season. He cherished the
time spent at his lake property near Phillips, WI. Ronald loved taking his family on many
wonderful vacations.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 67 years, Shelby Jean. He is also survived by his children:
Scott (Teresa) Parks, Rhonda (Philip) Messerschmidt, Renee Vandehey, and Rachelle (Jay)
Meyer. He has 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister-in-law
Joyce Parks.
Ronald is preceded in death by his Parents: Leo and Evelyn Parks, sister and brother-in-law
Beverly and Howard Kuse, sister and brother-in-law Cleo and Ed Machtan, brother Gilbert
Parks, sister and brother-in-law Loraine and Elmer Holtman and 1 granddaughter Stephie Ann
Parks.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude for the care given to Ronald by Dr. Leon and the cancer
team at the Marshfield Medical Center. Additional thanks and gratitude are extended to the
exceptional and compassionate staff at House of the Dove. They helped us all in maneuvering
through Ronald s end of life.
