Sandra Gail (Hendrickson) Smazal

Sandra Gail Smazal, age 65, of Arpin, Wisconsin, passed away early on Friday, August 14, 2020 at her home in Arpin. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E. Veterans Parkway) in Marshfield.

Sandra was born March 2, 1955, the daughter of Harold and Betty (Wickie) Hendrickson in Marshfield, WI. She graduated from Auburndale High School in 1973. Sandy co-owned with her mother Betty & Sandy's Cafe in Auburndale, WI. In 1991 Sandy became a long time smiling face that everyone knew at Swetz County Corner Mart in Blenker, WI until her retirement in 2019.

In her spare time, she enjoyed her flowers, crocheting, canning, shopping trips, baking & cooking, along with big holiday meals with family. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and going up north to their cabin in Phillips.

Sandra is lovingly survived by her devoted partner Dennis Clark. Children: Jason Smazal (Jennifer Nowak), of Spencer, WI, Amanda Blaskowski (Steven) of Marshfield, WI. Grandchildren: Gage Smazal and Samantha Nowak of Spencer, WI. Hoyt and Faith Blaskowski of Marshfield, WI. Brothers: Alan (Kathy) Hendrickson, of Marshfield, WI. Randy Hendrickson, of Marshfield, WI. Caring family friend Christie Winkelman of Auburndale, WI.

Sandra is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Betty (Wickie) Hendrickson of Auburndale, WI.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Sandy is fondly remembered by those around her as caring and pleasant but a strong woman. Heaven gained an angel who fought an inevitable battle. “Though you cannot always see the bird singing, if you listen with your heart, you can always hear its song."
