Shaun “Shaunie” Lee Bowen 56, passed away on Monday September 9, 2024, at her home in Chili after a long battle with lung disease, cared for with love and compassion by Mark, her love. She and Mark endured what they knew would cause us all so much pain, alone. She was stronger than anyone I know.
A service will be held at Hansen Schilling Funeral Home 1010 E. Veterans Parkway on Friday September 20, 2024, with visitation from 9-11am and service to follow at 11am.
Shaun was born on April 21, 1968, to Sandra Welch and Richard Bowen, in Marshfield. She grew up and went to school in Marshfield. She worked in service bartending and cooking in and around the Marshfield area for most of her life as well. Making so many friends along the way with her easy, welcoming smile and generous free-spirited nature. She knew someone everywhere she went and never had a bad word to say about anyone.
Shaunie loved nature, motorcycle rides, spending time with friends and family, the Green Bay Packers and football pools and lottery fun and most of all her big brown dog Bruno.
Shaun is lovingly survived by the love of her life, best friend Mark Komis, his boys Levi, Logan and Landon. Her daughter Ashley Marie Bowen. She is further survived by her father Richard (Sharon) Bowen, sister Sheila (Tom) Bowen-Uthmeier, niece Chelsea Featherston and family, nephew Allen Bowen and family. A brother Jeremy (Nicole) Weinfurtner, nieces Belle, Leah and Olyvia Weinfurtner. Extended family includes sisters Brooke and Holly, stepsisters Tammi and Theresa and bonus nephew Ryan Warner. And so many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and friends. And of course, her big brown dog Bruno.
Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the family.
