Shirley Dawn Hutter, age 94, of Marshfield, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024, at Colonial Health & Rehabilitation in Colby.
A memorial service will be held at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E. Veterans Pkwy. Marshfield, WI 54449) on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, with Rev. Mark Krueger officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Lunch will follow the service at the funeral home.
Shirley was born on March 14, 1930, the daughter of John Debevec and Nettie (Stover) Debevec, in Pittsville, Wisconsin.
She attended Three Oaks Country School. On Sep. 12, 1949, Shirely was united in marriage to Lowell Fay Rucker at the Congregational Church in Pittsville. After Lowell’s passing, she married Harold J. Hutter on June 3, 1978, at the United Church of Christ in Pittsville.
Shirley loved farm life, and in her spare time she enjoyed embroidery; she had a green thumb and loved growing, and attending to, her flowers. She truly loved small children and babies.
She is lovingly survived by her children: Steven (Diane) Rucker of Marshfield, Kirk (Lynette) Rucker of Birnamwood, Brenda Rucker of Marshfield, Susan Rucker of Eau Claire, Kenneth (Sherri) Rucker of Rudolph, Timothy (Joann) Rucker of Monroe, and Michael (Vonny) Rucker of Wisconsin Rapids. She is further survived by many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and her sister, Inez Kann.
In addition to her parents and husbands (Lowell Rucker and Harold Hutter), Shirley is preceded in death by her daughters, Deborah Schweke, and Peggy Marcoux; her sisters, Madeline Herzberg, Fern Fink; and brother, Duane Debevec.
