Theresa Tiry

Theresa (Stencil) Tiry, age 91, of Marshfield, passed away late Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Vita Care in Stratford. A future graveside service for family and friends will be at Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Theresa was born on July 20, 1934, the daughter of Henry and Lucy (Wielock) Stencil, in the city of Cassel/Marathon. On September 20, 1951, Theresa was united in marriage to the love of her life, Walter Tiry, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

Theresa was a cook at several different businesses in Marshfield, including the Marshfield Hospital where she worked for 21 years. She loved cooking for family and friends and traveling over the years with her husband of 73 years.

Theresa is survived by her husband, Walter; children, John and Vickie (Steinwagner) Tiry of Laurel, Montana, Jim and Christie (Eilers) Tiry of Stratford, Wisconsin, Jerry and Kris Tiry of Becker, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, Virginia Konrady.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lucy Stencil; her sister, Alvina and husband Marvin; an infant brother, Irvin; and brother-in-law, Paul Konrady.
