Thomas Horstmann

Thomas James Horstman, 52, of Marshfield, passed away early Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023, at the Marshfield Medical Center.

He was born on Sep. 16, 1970, in Highland, Illinois, to Robert and Rita (Wessel) Horstman. He lived in St. Rose, Illinois, and moved to Spencer, Wisconsin, in 1996.

Thomas enjoyed farming, showing dairy cows, shooting pool, playing cards and taking care of his nephews and niece. He was a member of the 4-H, Reg. Holstein and pool league clubs.

He is survived by his mother, Rita (Wessel) Horstmann; and brother, Daniel, both of Marshfield; three nephews, Austin, Brandyn, and Caden; and one niece, Ava.

Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Robert; nephew, Alex; grandparents, John and Regina Horstmann, and Vincent and Cathrine Wessel; uncles, John Wessel, Andy Jansen, James (Rita) Horstmann; aunts, Joann Beer and Carol Frey.

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2023, at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E. Veterans Pkwy. in Marshfield, Wisconsin) with Deacon Ray Draeger officiating. Burial will follow in the West Spencer Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24th, and again from 10-11:00 a.m. on Friday morning at the funeral home.
