William R. Bump Sr.

William R. Bump Sr., age 78, passed away surrounded by family on September 2nd, 2021, at 4:27 pm in the Critical Care Unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, WI.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, 09/11/2021, at 11:00 am at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 E. Veterans Parkway, Marshfield. Viewing will be held from 9:30 am to 11:00 am prior to services. Burial Service will follow at the Hillside Cemetery. Six sons will serve as pallbearers.

Born on June 21st, 1943, in Marshfield, William was the son of Percy F. Bump Sr. and Angeline (Vogel) Bump. William Grew up in the Hewitt Area. He met Elizabeth Watson and married on May 29th, 1965. Together they raised seven boys; they taught them values and to always live life to the fullest. They renewed their vows on their 50th anniversary while Elizabeth was fighting cancer in the Palliative Care Unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Elizabeth lost her battle with cancer just a few days later.

William was a carpenter for Rollohome, later to be called Marshfield Homes, and worked on the family farm that he ran with his wife and seven boys. William retired from work after he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 1993. He enjoyed spending time with his boys throughout the years, fishing, camping and working on the farm. William was an avid Bass Fisherman and belonged to the local bass club where he fished weekly tournaments with his son, Corey. He enjoyed his football weekends with his sons, Gerald and Doug. He had a special bond with each of his seven boys.

William is survived by his sisters, Audrey (Marvin) Schillinger, Doris (William) Schawntes, Arlene (Herman) Kiepert, Joann White. Also, his seven children, William Bump Jr. (Candy Bump), Arthur Bump (Debbie), Corey Bump (Paula Bump), Douglas Bump (Tiffany Bump), Eric Bump, Fabian Bump (LeeAnn Bump), Gerald Bump. Numerous nieces; nephews; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Bump; his parents, Percy Sr. and Angeline Bump; and his brother, Percy Bump Jr.
