William J. “Bill” Vollert, age 61 of Arpin, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield of an infection due to health problems.
Bill was born October 7, 1960, in Marshfield, Wisconsin, to William and LaVerne (Clouse) Vollert. He worked in maintenance at Arpin Dairy, Sensory Effects and other various jobs.
Bill was united in marriage to Cheryl (Dearth) on August 9, 2014, at the cabin, Coulee View LLC.
Bill loved the outdoors! He was an avid hunter, but also loved fishing and trapping. He had a dry sense of humor and was quite the jokester. He loved to listen to ‘80s music, play cards, watch the Packers, shoot pool, play darts and never missed a meal. He enjoyed spending time with his brothers and nephews at their cabin (Coulee View LLC) in Jackson County.
Bill gave the biggest, hardest hugs! His famous saying was “CUT IT OUT. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Survived by his wife: Cheryl; his daughter: Kelley Nelson (Kent Gruebel); his son: Joseph (Miranda Fabian); step-children: Colin Melbo, Shana (Jim) Petrouske; grandchildren: Dylan, Bentley, Rayva, Axteyn, Everly and Rowlan; siblings: Bonnie (Keith) Skattebo, Valarie Friday, Richard (Lynn) Vollert, Diane (Roger) Scheunemann, Daniel (Shirley) Vollert, Donald Vollert, Darrell (Karen) Vollert, Cindy (John) Fay, Karmen (Rick) Bouma, and Karrie (Todd) Pask; father-in-law: Ken Dearth; sisters-in-law: Debbie Passini and Julie (Mark) Luther; brothers-in-law: Mike Dearth and Kenny Dearth; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Connie Carolfi and Sharon Vincent; brothers-in-law: Daryl Friday and Jeff Passini; sisters-in-law: Lori Vollert and Florine Vollert; nephews: Louis, Devin, Dustin, and Jesse; mother-in-law: Deloris Dearth.
Bill’s family would like to thank the staff at Marshfield Medical Center ICU and Sarah from Palliative Care for the wonderful care he received.
The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E. Veterans Pkwy. in Marshfield), with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Pastor Milt Van Natta will officiate. A luncheon will be served at the Arpin Municipal Building following the service.
